Fifth graders used their knowledge of The Elements and Principles of Art to create these sculptures from paper. They used doodles and zentangles as their inspiration to create patterns that repeat throughout their sculpture. They used modern sculpture (both local and national) to inspire them along with modern sculptural architecture like the Guggenheim. This, along with a foundational knowledge of classical sculpture, led then to these fascinating works of art.
Second graders used their knowledge of line, shape and color to create collages in the style of Piet Mondrian. Third graders used what they've learned about the solar system, astronomy and blending Cray-pas to create fantastical spacescapes that propel the viewer into outer space with the artist. Kindergarteners read the book Pete's Chicken by Harriet Ziefert and talked about being unique and being proud of their uniqueness. They used what we've learned so far about shapes and lines to draw their chickens and worked hard on their coloring skills. Third graders created abstract art using their knowledge of the Elements and Principles of Art. They created abstract designs with balance, rhythm and unity while representing America and celebrating Constitution Day. They used line, shape and pattern to create a feeling of Patriotism and celebrate our national heritage. Scholars from fourth & fifth grade used their knowledge of American symbols to create drawings that represented America, Patriotism and Constitution Day. They traced their drawings with black Cray-pas which resisted the watercolor paints and left a strong line drawing. They emphasized the American theme by using a uniquely American color scheme whenever possible. First & Second graders created abstract art using their knowledge of line, shape, color, pattern and the design elements of the American Flag. Kindergarteners learned about line, shape and color. They made abstract art using the star shape from our American flag and different types of lines. They learned about painting with water color paints, mixing colors and using a color scheme. |
